Brew Business: Branding, Marketing & the Craft Beer Scene

Northeast Wisconsin’s craft beer scene is making a splash both locally and nationally, and the brewers are giving AMA N.E.W. a peek at their special recipes for branding and marketing their respective products. The program will entail a panel discussion about the breweries’ journeys from inception to where they are now, and how they differentiate themselves in this hot, growing market.
Sample their products and network with your peers before and after the program.
Badger State Brewing
Andrew Fabry, president and founder
Some people are pot of coffee by day, pint of beer by night kinds of folks; triple that and you have Andrew Fabry. Born and raised in Green Bay, Andrew comes from a proud family heritage of small business entrepreneurs and owners. With prior work in distribution, retail and bartending as well as business research and experience from his collegiate studies, Andrew brings a well-rounded knowledge of the beer industry and ideas to Badger State Brewing. Andrew currently handles all day to day operations of the brewery, specializing in marketing, sales, product development, and events. Under his leadership, Badger State Brewing has been able to focus its brewing skills, knowledge, and creativity into a business that makes the community of Green Bay and Wisconsin proud.
Noble Roots Brewing Company
Alex Falish, co-founder and head of brewing operations
Alex has been around craft beer since long before he could drink it. He may have enjoyed a few sips in Germany on a 2007 family trip, but it wasn’t until he returned to that country to study in 2013 that he really developed a taste for the stuff. Although Alex’s initial involvement in home brewing was limited to bottling and capping, after his studies in Germany he devoured everything he could find on the art and science of brewing, and drastically impacted the way the family brewed. Alex also brings valuable skills from his work in logistics and supply chain management to the brewery. As a self-taught brewer, he revels in the recipe design process, which requires an intimate understanding of how ingredients interact to result in a memorable beer.
Stillmank Brewing Company
Brad Stillmank, brewer and owner
Brad Stillmank is the owner and brewer at Stillmank Brewing Company. In this role Brad looks after the raw material selection, brewing practices, package and serving of Stillmank’s unique beers among an infinite amount of other daily challenges. Brad is a qualified brewer with certifications in both brewing and packaging from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling. Brad has nearly two decades of brewing experience. His start was over a kitchen stove in college as a home brewer; this passion for brewing, and beer evolved as he spent many years brewing award winning beers at a micro-brewery in southwestern Colorado. In addition, he has judged many beer competitions and designed his own malt for specific recipes. Brad enjoys time with his wife Erin, and two young children when he is away from the business.
Titletown Brewing Co.
Brent Weycker, president, co-owner, co-founder
A lifelong Green Bay resident, Brent Weycker followed his dream in 1996 co-founding Titletown Brewing Co. after working briefly in retail management. Titletown Brewing Co. was Green Bay’s first brewpub and is now in its 20th year with nearly 100+ employees.
In 2014, Titletown Brewing Co. embarked on a major expansion plan that included a full production brewery, tap room, banquet facility and a roof top beer garden, all of which expands the company’s position as an anchor in Green Bay’s Downtown District. The company has received several awards from the Great American Beer Festival, the World Beer Cup and has been named “Best Brewpub in the Nation” by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
